Listen to Jesus

This week Robert taught from Luke 11, in which Jesus is accused of casting out demons via the power of Satan. Throughout His ministry people wanted to try to put Jesus in a box, minimise Him, ignore Him, dismiss him etc. Here is just one example of that happening:

As he was speaking, a woman in the crowd called out, “God bless your mother–the womb from which you came, and the breasts that nursed you!” Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice – Luke 11:27-28

How rude! This lady overlooked Jesus incredible ministry, and the work of God happening through Him, and give the credit to his mother instead?! But Jesus, in his straight-forward manner, gets right to the heart of the issue – it isn’t about any of that, just listen to God and put His words into practice.

Whatever you’re facing today, don’t let the world, or family, or circumstances stand in the way of you really listening to Jesus, hearing God’s word and – by the power of His spirit – actually practically living out His commandments.
