The Problem is Spiritual

We’re currently working our way through Colossians on Sunday mornings with Dave. The centrality and supremacy of Christ have been really encouraging to study. We must never tire of growing deeper in all the treasure we have in Him.

There are lots of influencers and agendas today that are pseudo spiritual but deny Christ as God incarnate. Paul warned us about these empty philosophies and high sounding arguments long ago. They advocate systems, rules, bodily changes but all of that misses the point – humanities problems are not physical – they are spiritual! You can’t fix a spiritual problem with a physical change

You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as, 21 “Don’t handle! Don’t taste! Don’t touch!”? 22 Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them. 23 These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires. – Colossians 2:20-23

May we be spiritually minded and seek God’s help to conquer our evil desires. May we root down into Christ and never drift away from Him and our foundation, substance and inspiration. May He guide us to the spiritual answers we need to the issues we face today
