Baptism Celebration

We recently celebrated eight young believers getting Baptised! We help the service at Loch Lunaig, a fresh water loch near Ben Lomond. It was an incredibly beautiful setting for such a joyful occasion and the sun even shone for us, a rarity in Scotland!

As we sang worship songs and read out passages of encouragement and dedication each celebrant got dunked in the cold, peaty waters of the loch, and paddleboarding strangers celebrated with is, I was reminded of the absolute privilege it is to proclaim Christ publicly.

“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavour? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world–like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” – Matthew 5:13-16 NLT

May we never stop declaring Christ to the world, not only in special celebrations like our Baptism service, but also in the day to day interactions we have with our friends, family, co-workers or that difficult neighbour across the street!
