Colossians 3:16-21 16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. 18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly. 20 Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not aggravate your children, or they will become discouraged.
We are working our way through the book of 1 Peter on Sunday mornings at the moment and have recently come across Peters advice for us as living bricks in the temple of God, Priests serving under the Great High Priest and Ambassadors of the Kingdom of Heaven. It is so important for us to be reminded that every aspect of our lives such be a witness to the world around us of the priorities and spiritual precepts of our Heavenly Father. This is true when we are at home with out family too. The way that we relate to our parents, our spouses, our siblings should point others to the vastly different culture of Heaven. God, in his three person, has perfect love, unity and fellowship with Himself. This should be reflected in Christian family relationships. It is this love and unity that will draw people to the living and loving God
