Today, in central Scotland, children go back to school after the Easter holidays. There is bird song in the air, and although it’s still cold there are signs of spring such as daffodils and lambs in the fields surrounding Shotts. The benediction from Numbers 6 has been ringing out in my head as I think about the new start that today brings for our kids:
‘May the LORD bless you and protect you.
May God’s grace be eternally upon all who love our Lord Jesus Christ.
May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. 26 May the LORD show you his favour and give you his peace.’ – Numbers 6:24-26
This morning I have just been reminded afresh of God’s blessings, that he so abundantly and consistently pours forth from Heaven. Ever new day is in itself a sign of His goodness to us. I hope you are also encouraged as you think upon his faithful blessings.
May God’s grace be eternally upon all who love our Lord Jesus Christ – Ephesians 6:24
AMEN!
