This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary – Hebrews 6:19
Greetings! As I sought God for a theme for my first message of 2022 He kept bringing me back to the word HOPE. After all the struggles we have faced as individuals and as a world during the past couple of years it makes sense that we really need to reevaluate and return to our great hope. Throughout the Bible, in both Hebrew and Greek there are a variety of words for Hope, some of which are nouns – naming words for and source of our Hope (ultimately Jesus right!) but others are verbs – action words that spur us on to actively place our full faith and trust in God. Christian hope is not wishful thinking, idealism or buring our heads in the same – it is a life of actively trusting in God for that which we do not see but know to be true (Hebrews 11, Romans 8, 2 Corinthians 4) – God is real, He loves us, He has a good plan for our lives, He made a way for us to be forgiven of our sins through Jesus, He is with us now, His Holy Spirit gives us strength to live meaningful lives in Him and after it all we know we have a home with Him in heaven forever. This is the basis of our hope, it’s concrete, and frees us from living in fear. May you truly experience God’s hope in your life this coming year, may that hope spur you on to deeper intimacy with our loving Father.
