Twice in Romans 6 Paul speaks very emphatically in the negative when asking pre-emptive questions regarding habitual and occasional sin:
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? … 15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! – Romans 6:1-2 & 15 NIV
Absolutely not! No way! Heaven forbid! Never! Christ has freed us from sin in all it’s nasty forms. Let us live, thrive & abide in that freedom. We must not chose to make ourselves slaves of sin or give in to temptation. Let us be single minded in our pursuit of righteousness, since that is what will bring us life rather than the death we were once under.
