There are some many things going on at this time of year. I was chatting to a friend the other day about how things we do once during the Christmas season can easily then become traditions that we have to maintain every year. As new traditions get added each year it can end up becoming exhausting! This got me thinking about simplicity
The LORD preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me – Psalm 116:6
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you – Matthew 6:33
Wherever possible I think it’s helpful to simplify during this season. Of course there are activities that need to be undertaken, but keeping Christ’s Kingdom in focus even during the hectic times really helps retain the meaning of Christmas. There is a joy to be found in the midst of the rush and activity. May we find ways to simplify and simply remain focused on Jesus this year. God bless us, everyone!
