1 Peter 4:7-8 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
In the early first century AD, Peter wrote that the end of the world was coming SOON. He understood that after the resurrection and ascension of Christ all generations of believers needed to remain in a mindset of expecting the end. In the verses that follow this statement he set out matters of first priority for Christ’s followers:- A lifestyle of earnest devotion to God and deep love for one another. These simple precepts offer us a great deal of clarity and comfort during all eras of these ends times, no matter how uncertain or fear inducing they may seem. We must continue to worship God with all that we are and seek fresh ways to extend His love and grace to one another and the lost and confused world around us.
