As a church we have just entered a season of prayer and fasting and would encourage you to do the same. The Bible makes it clear that fasting is not an option but a Christian discipline that we should pursue. This past Sunday, on the eve of starting our fast we read from James 1:2 – 5 ‘2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. 5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking’.
In times of trail it is so important for us to remember that we serve a loving, good and generous God. He is using our trails to make us increasingly fit for Heaven and He is always at our disposal, ready to give us the wisdom we need to live life. Hold on to these truths today.
